Fall Hike

The red in the mountains has been beckoning us,

so tonight we went up to the canyon for family night.

It was the absolute perfect time to go!

The leaves were just breathtaking everywhere we looked.

It was nice getting out and spending some time together!

When we made it to Timpanogos Falls there wasn't another soul in sight!

We took a little break and enjoyed our picnic dinner.

And eventually we headed back down.

A BYU Victory!

So from our recent blog posts
you may think that we are a bit obsessed with BYU...
Maybe just a little.

Derek got 2 sets of tickets for the home games this year,
so we are alternating who attends games with him.

Saturday was Julia's turn. It sounds like she had a lot of fun!

(Even if she did spend a large portion of the game playing games on Derek's phone.)

Derek told her that she must be good luck.

(They were very happy for the win!)

A different Y

Derek updated the Y on our garage door.

Needless to say we weren't thrilled with the outcome of the game on Saturday.

Hopefully they'll do better this weekend!!

Ward Campout

I know it's hard to believe, but we actually went camping twice this summer!

Twice!

That is a big deal for us since we haven't been camping at all in several years.

And we survived! No we didn't get a lot of sleep, but the kids had a great time.

We may even attempt camping on our own next summer. Maybe...

Diving board fun

A few years ago the kids would never have even thought of jumping off the diving board at the pool. Last year one of Ethan's classmates was at the pool at the same time as us, and she convinced him to jump off. He has loved it ever since!

Julia didn't quite dare to jump off last summer (though she had no problem jumping into the deep end of the pool). She told us the reason this summer, and it was because they wouldn't let her wear her goggles when jumping off the diving board.
Derek told her he'd give her a dollar if she'd do it, so she finally decided to give it a try. She loved it! She kept going again and again, we had to convice her to stop.

Before Char's wedding we got together for a girls' night out and went to Cold Stone.

So naturally we had to do it again before her baby was born!
