Ward Campout

I know it's hard to believe, but we actually went camping twice this summer!

Twice!

That is a big deal for us since we haven't been camping at all in several years.

And we survived! No we didn't get a lot of sleep, but the kids had a great time.

We may even attempt camping on our own next summer. Maybe...

Diving board fun

A few years ago the kids would never have even thought of jumping off the diving board at the pool. Last year one of Ethan's classmates was at the pool at the same time as us, and she convinced him to jump off. He has loved it ever since!

Julia didn't quite dare to jump off last summer (though she had no problem jumping into the deep end of the pool). She told us the reason this summer, and it was because they wouldn't let her wear her goggles when jumping off the diving board.
Derek told her he'd give her a dollar if she'd do it, so she finally decided to give it a try. She loved it! She kept going again and again, we had to convice her to stop.

Before Char's wedding we got together for a girls' night out and went to Cold Stone.

So naturally we had to do it again before her baby was born!

$2 Tuesdays

Thanksgiving Point's $2 Tuesday are back during the month of August!
We braved the crowds a few weeks ago and headed to the Dinosaur Museum.

The line was huge. We finally made it inside the building after about 15 minutes.

The kids did have a great time,

so I guess it was worth it.

(Even though we were exhausted

from fighting the crowds.)

And they certainly spent some quality cousin time together!

If you can brave the crowds then it's a great deal!

Summer full of cousins!

A summer full of cousins is the best kind of summer!

Robyn and Eric came back at the beginning of August

and spent a week and a half with us.

We had so much fun!

We made it to the I Spy exhibit over at the

BYU Museum of Art.

As soon as I took this photo a security guard came over

and told us that photography is not allowed in the museum.

Oh well!

The kids were excited to leave

because we were headed for creamery

to get donuts and chocolate milk!

This series of photos cracked me up, so I had to include a lot of them

(aka- it's hard to wait for donuts!) :

They loved it!

They also had lots of fun swinging together during Char's baby shower.

And having Aunt Kristen give them pedicures.

And we spent some time swimming too.

We can't wait until they come back again!

Julia is starting 2nd grade, and Ethan is starting 4th grade.

Yay for a cousin in town!

Ethan and Julia are beyond excited to have a new little cousin that actually lives close by!

Daphne is just as cute as can be!

I hope Char and Andrew don't get

sick of us coming over to see the baby. :)

This post is way late, but now that the kids are back in school

I am trying to catch up on blogging!

Julia's birthday was on August 7th, and she turned 7.

Her golden birthday!

She had her birthday party on the day of her birthday, at Nickelcade.

The kids had a great time!

(And bonus-- I didn't have to clean anything up!)

Her Family party ended up being on the same day,

so this lucky girl got 2 cakes in one day!

Julia loved having cousins in town for her birthday!

And they loved helping her open her gifts!

She had such a fun day!
