Julia's autograph

A few weeks ago I noticed that someone had yet again written on the wall [sigh].
Any guesses as to who it was?

Don't you love that she signed her name?!

And then crossed it out?!

She can't blame this one on Ethan!

March...in like a Lion, out like a Lion?

We were not very excited to wake up to snow today. Our weather has been crazy! Last week it felt like summer, and this week it feels like winter again.

Today my silly children refused to wear their coats to school. Instead they each wore 2 shirts, 3 jackets, and 2 pairs of pants. I do understand their lack of enthusiasm about pulling coats out again, but don't you think it would be easier to wear a coat?!

Biking in the canyon

Last weekend we went for a bike ride on the Provo River Parkway .
The canyon was beautiful and just starting to turn green with hints of the arrival of Spring.

Everything was going perfectly...
until we hit an avalance site.

We dragged the bikes through the snow with some difficulty.

We were relieved to have made it through!
We stopped along the way for a picnic lunch along the river.

And Julia had an oppotunity to play in the river.
It was a wonderful way to spend the day!

Spring is in the air!

The snow has melted.
The winds are not as bitter, and the sun is back!
We are so excited that Spring is here!!

This weekend we went on a family bike ride. I haven't ridden a bike in several years-- I didn't have one that worked until now. It was wonderful! The wind blowing in my hair and the sun in my face, it was so freeing!

Since is was our first ride of the season we kept it reasonably short and went around 4 miles. The kids did great, though we need to get a bigger bike for Ethan.

Hooray for Spring!!!

Our flat screen for $10 !

Let me introduce you to my treadmill:

This guy resides in my downstairs office. Unfortunately the treadmill has to face the wall in order to avoid being placed in the middle of the room (since it folds up to save space).

The problem? I don't like staring at the wall while I'm torturing myself on the treadmill, it makes me much less likely to actually use it!

My darling husband came up with a solution!

--------------------------------------------

Meet my "flat screen tv"!

Do you see what I see?

The reflection in the mirror is the image of the tv that lives on the opposite side of the room!

Now I can watch my shows and get my behind off the couch work out at the same time!

PS It totally works too!!

A lesson in why you should always check homework!

Thanks to Jenifer for posting this, I thought it was hilarious!

Always check your child's homework!

The mother's letter to the teacher:

Dear Mrs. Jones,
I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer.
I work at The Home Depot, and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at The Home Depot.
From now on, I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Smith

How to create a signature for your blog

I've had a few people ask how I did my signature, so I decided to do a post about it.
I know there are lots of different ways to do this, but this is what I did.

I went to MyLiveSignature. You type in your name (and any other words that you'd like your signature to include). Then it lets you pick a font. It has tons to pick from! I chose the one that looked the most like my handwriting. It will then let you pick the size, color, and slope of your signature. It will then tell you that your signature is ready and you can click on "Use this signature" and then "generate html code" to use it on your blog. It will let you pick whether you'd like a handwritten signature or your signature posted over other information (like a business name), I went with the handwritten signature option.
You then copy the html code.
To paste it into your blog just click on dashboard, settings, formatting, and then paste it into the "post template". This will generate your signature every time you write a blog post. Just make sure to type your post above your signature.
Easy, right?!

Yummmmmmm

We went to Macey's on Monday night.
In front of the store were some girl scouts selling cookies. We hurried to finish up our short shopping trip and went outside to purchase our favorite cookies... Samoas!

But to our dismay the Samoas were all gone!

I guess we'll have to try making our own. (Recipe here.)
