Conference traditions

If you'd like to see what will be inspiring me this weekend you can watch it here . This weekend is the general conference for our church.

When I was growing up we would always have a really great breakfast while watching Sunday morning conference on tv. We now do this with our kids too. Tomorrow we will probaby be having homemade egg mcmuffins because we have english muffins, cheese, lots of eggs, and bacon. And then I will have the kids do their conference packets to minimize the noise, hopefully.

What are your conference traditions?

We usaually create something totally out of the ordinary..Last year we made a pet shop house and painted it...It was a walll shelf with lots of cubbys and so each child painted different rooms...We love to listen and be together! Enjoy the egg mcmuffins!

I'm sorry to say we don't have any traditions for conference Sunday. We used to put up a tent and listen (like we were listening to King Benjamin) and eat camping food. I think we should start that up again, even if it isn't 'live' when we get to actually watch it!! :) Josh has a special notebook that he uses when watching conference--I give him an Ensign, and he searches for the picture of the person talking, cuts it out, pastes it on a page, and then draws a picture of what the person is talking about. He can usually stay focused for about 3 or 4 talks in a row!! I thought that was pretty impressive...

A big ole' breakfast ranks pretty high on our list. We also like to drive through the canyons, especially in October. Sadly, we did not do that today.
